As a Senior Specification Specialist for Canada, you will lead specification development and support across the Western Canada region, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with architectural and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide specifications leadership, guiding goal setting and serving as a regional resource.
- Maintain consistency in project specification delivery and communicate updates to regional users.
- Support local specification writers and serve as liaison for software platform engagement.
- Offer technical and product support, recommend materials and procedures, and mentor project teams.
- Draft and review technical specifications, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and project requirements.
- Assist with contract language and quality control processes.
- Demonstrate professionalism, strong communication, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced workplace.
- Discover and implement new products, systems, and components; share lessons learned and best practices.
- Provide education and training to staff on best practices and specification development.
- Participate in trade shows and ongoing research to stay current with the latest materials and techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with architectural specifications.
- Strong knowledge of CSI/CSC principles, construction materials, and ability to recommend technical specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to actively participate in an employee‑owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Architecture.
- Professional credentials such as Construction Specifications Canada: CSP, RSW, or LEED accreditation.
- Collaborative and teamwork skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
