SLB is seeking a safety-focused and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician based in Calgary , Alberta . In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, repairing, and preparing equipment to support operational requirements and ensure on-time delivery. You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Product Line teams to maximize equipment reliability, improve asset utilization, and support efficient service delivery. We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and is committed to operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, reduce maintenance-related downtime, and support the safe and efficient operation of critical assets.
Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain assigned equipment in accordance with applicable maintenance programs, reliability-centered maintenance strategies, and standard work procedures.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) systems to accurately document maintenance activities, labor, materials, and equipment history.
Perform inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and readiness.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing asset utilization and reducing the cost-of-service delivery.
Participate in efforts to improve asset turnaround time by reducing maintenance-related downtime, equipment failures, and work-in-process.
Assist with repair, refurbishment, and component reuse programs to maximize asset value and operational efficiency.
Participate in equipment failure investigations and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications and Experience
Technical diploma, trade certification, or post-secondary education in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Heavy Equipment, or a related field is considered an asset.
Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, manufacturing, oilfield services, or a related technical environment.
Experience working with preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maintenance procedures, and equipment specifications.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
