ABOUT THE ROLE Are you an experienced commercialHVAC/R technician who thrives on solving complex problems in commercial andlight industrial systems? Kerr Controls is looking for a sharp,customer-focused Commercial Technical Support Specialist to be a trustedresource for our customers and field teams across Atlantic Canada.
In this role, you'll draw on yourhands-on experience with commercial systems — from rooftop units and VRFsystems to chillers, make-up air units, and commercial refrigeration. You'llprovide expert technical support, conduct training, and help our customers getthe most out of Kerr's applied product lines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide commercial post-salestechnical support via phone, email, and onsite visits
Troubleshoot a wide rangeof equipment and controls
Lead technical trainingsessions for customers and internal staff, tailored to commercial and lightindustrial audiences
Offer mixed on-site andremote startup assistance
Work efficiently both aspart of the Kerr Applied team, with input on pre-sales design and commissioningconsiderations, while assisting the broader Kerr Tech Support team in managinga high volume of inbound calls, with a focus on commercial requests
Conduct onsite assessmentsand equipment evaluations across your territory as needed
Collaborate with thewarranty department to evaluate and process warranty claims in accordance withKerr's policies
Maintain clear,professional communication with customers and manufacturer partners




Prepare detailed reports ontechnical issues, root causes, and recommended solutions
Travel within yourdesignated region (Atlantic Canada or Ontario), with occasional national andinternational travel for manufacturer training
WHAT YOU BRING Experience & Credentials Completion of an HVAC/RTechnical program, with 5–10 years of hands-on field experience
Demonstrated experience incommercial/light industrial HVAC/R service and installation
Solid understanding ofcommercial systems in air- and water-side heating, cooling, ventilation, controls,pumps, and refrigeration
Valid driver's license andclean driving record
Additional accreditation inengineering or trades fields would be considered an asset, as would experiencein estimating, accounting, project management, or customer service
Skills & Attributes Physically able to work onladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics) in varyingweather conditions for extended periods
Strong diagnostic skills —able to interpret wiring diagrams, refrigerant circuit schematics, andmanufacturer documentation
Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills; confident presenting to large groups




Skilled at conflictresolution and de-escalating difficult customer situations
Strong organizationalskills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment
Proficiency with MicrosoftOffice (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Professional demeanour withthe ability to stay calm under pressure
Bilingual (French/English)considered a robust asset
Willingness to be flexibleand to balance competing priorities in a high-pressure environment
