About Our Client Our client, a well-established manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Lead to join their team in Surrey, BC.
This is an excellent chance for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, owner-managed business environment and is looking to make a meaningful impact within a growing organization.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end processes, financial reporting, and mentoring junior accounting staff.
This position offers the opportunity to grow within the organization and contribute to ongoing financial process improvements.
Job Details Position Title: Senior Accountant/Accounting Lead
Location: Surrey, BC
Compensation: Up to $80,000 annually (depending on experience)
Job Type: Temporary-to-Permanent or Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities Support and participate in the month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records
Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities
Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations
Prepare and assist with GST, PST, and other tax filings
Assist with inventory accounting and cost accounting activities
Generate financial reports and provide analysis to management
Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
Work within the ERP system to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy
Support the finance department transitions and special projects as required
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members
Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting
Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Knowledge of payroll accounting and tax filings
Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, inventory, or product-based environment is strongly preferred
Experience with ERP systems is required
Experience with Acumatica ERP is considered a strong asset
Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and thrive in a hands-on environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Accounting designation or progress toward a designation is considered an asset, but is not required
Preferred Experience Experience working in a small to mid-sized owner-managed business
Inventory and cost accounting experience
Supervisory or mentoring experience
