Job Number: 55733Parks & Roads Services is seeking an Operations Analyst to cultivate the City of Edmonton's vision and cultural commitments while championing continuous improvement through data and analytics.Your success will be determined by your ability to act as the first point of contact for data, analytics, and performance-related questions for assigned operational teams2.This position will interface across various stakeholders in different Departments, Branches, Sections, and Units of the Municipal Government to collaborate on delivering corporate, department, and branch strategic and operational plans, and creating and/or optimizing performance measurement processes.What will you do?Act as the first point of contact for data, analytics, and performance-related questions for your assigned operational teamsUnderstand the intricacies of each operational team's work and develop suitable data visualization systems and analytics reportsUnder supervision of Team leads, modify existing software, devise current software tools, or formulate new software to better fit operational demandsStandardize operational planning & monitoring of the various services provided by Infrastructure Operations through data analytics and IT systemsLead the set up, management and close out of work orders for each operational seasonPrepare monthly accomplishment, order number and labour hour reports by pulling relevant data from SAP or directly from related SQL databasesDevelop section level KPIs that align with Branch level KPIsConduct trend and variance analysis using statistical mapping/mathematical tools to analyze data sets to develop dashboards and provide pulse of operationsMonitor operations' service levels and delivery to produce daily, weekly, monthly and annual reportsSupport the engagement of targeted SMEs,
internal and external stakeholders to gather relevant dataLead and direct cross-functional meetings to collaborate with SMEs, internal and external stakeholdersTroubleshoot and rectify issues related to analytical and operational software/programmingPerform other related duties as requiredQualifications:University degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field OR Equivalent supporting education/training in data analytics, software engineering, and change managementANDMinimum of 2 years of experience in:Business development, statistics, or project managementProcess standardization, data visualization and stakeholder managementAssets:Visualization and Mapping with Tableau and ESRI ArcGISProficient in FME, JavaScript, AppScript and pythonFamiliarity with SAPProficiency in Google Cloud Platform, GCP and Cloud functionsSkills required for success:Excellent understanding of Programming Algorithms.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, both internally and with external vendors and business partners.Strong strategic thinking, decision making and ability to assess risks.Advanced level knowledge of primary and secondary research methodologies.Skillful in performing complex end-to-end system troubleshooting, integration, and solution delivery of new systems and technologiesGeneral knowledge and skills in a variety of technology(s) including knowledge of building data pipelines and database designWell developed analytical and organizational skills,
