About the Division of Community Engagement
The Division of Community Engagement (DCE) includes donor engagement, alumni relations, government relations and community partnerships, and marketing and communications. The division takes a holistic approach to engaging with all MRU audiences to foster meaningful relationships inside and outside the University. Aligned with the University's strategic plan "Opening Minds and Changing Lives" and the "Grow Beyond" brand, the work done within the division aims to emphasize the University's impact beyond campus borders and ensure that we are providing a world-class undergraduate student experience.

About Role
The Leadership Giving Officer is responsible for the full scope of activities related to the cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship of a portfolio of Leadership Giving prospects and donors, typically those giving at the leadership level of $1,000 - $24,999. Under the direction of the Manager, Annual Giving & Gift Compliance, the Leadership Giving Officer (LGO) develops strategies to promote key partnerships and loyal giving for the segment/portfolio. The LGO will also be responsible for the renewal of annual awards and supporting various group giving projects, providing a high level of customer service and impactful stewardship to those donors. As a Foundation team member, the LGO will also work closely with colleagues across campus to engage, inform, and steward the broad MRU donor community and help grow philanthropic investment in support of the institutional and Foundation missions.

Responsibilities
Leadership Giving

Managean assigned portfolio of 110 to 125 current and prospective donors, and cultivate, solicitand stewardthose relationships to retain and grow their philanthropic engagement

Identify prospective constituents and developlong term plans for their involvement with the university; identifies, qualifies and stewards alumni prospects in collaboration with other university team members

First point of contact for leadership level giving inquiries

Work closely with Annual Giving and Awards Officer and/or Manager, Annual Giving & Gift Compliance to create,



renew and steward annual and endowed awards

Workwith group giving project donors and supports fundraising efforts for those projects, and liaisewith project organizers to steward those gifts

Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the case for support for priority fundraising initiatives at Mount Royal University

Work closely with internal partners across campus on priority fundraising initiatives

Able to attend events outside of regular working hours on occasion to engage and steward donors

Annual Giving

Assist in planning giving campaigns for constituent groups that may or may not include leadership donors

Respond to Annual Giving inquiries via email, and phone

Assist with strategic planning for Leadership and Annual Giving Team

Administrative Tasks

Participatein regular fundraising meetings with colleagues and team meetings

Manage prospect/donor relationships and maintaining contact history using RENXT CRM

Prepare and deliver various communication pieces for donors either by mail, or email

Qualifications

Three or four year bachelor degree or equivalentin business administration, nonprofit management or a certificate in fundraising and/or equivalency in education

2 to 3 years of experience in annual giving and/or post-secondary fundraising, including experience working with external and internal clients, donors, volunteers
Pursuit of, or completed CFRE designation would be an asset

Experience with RENXT, Mailchimp, and/or Canva would be beneficial for this position

Experience within a post-secondary environment would be an asset

Proven strong analytical skillswith the ability to analyze large amounts of data, identify trends, and develop strategies

Solid technical writing skills required

Ability to work independentlyand collaboratively, troubleshoot issues and thinkcreatively

Strong organizational skills, effective at managing multiple priorities and working against deadlines

Research skills, ability to use and extrapolate data from CRM
