About the Role
The Business Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing Campus Services’ strategic priorities through data-informed decision-making, business process improvement, digital transformation, and organizational effectiveness. Reporting to the Executive Director, Campus Services, this position works collaboratively with leaders, staff, and university partners to identify opportunities for innovation, streamline processes, improve service delivery, and support evidence-based planning across a diverse and evolving portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy, operations, technology, and customer experience in one of SFU’s most dynamic service environments. The successful candidate will lead business analysis, requirements gathering, process redesign, reporting and analytics initiatives, and system implementation projects that contribute directly to institutional goals and operational excellence. Upcoming initiatives include service modernization projects, business intelligence and reporting enhancements, digital workflow optimization, enterprise system integrations, strategic planning support, and the continued evolution of SFU’s credential ecosystem and customer service technologies. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful,

Qualifications

Business Analysis & Process Improvement – Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop
practical, sustainable solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building – Strong interpersonal and consultation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, facilitate discussions, gather requirements, and build consensus across teams with varying priorities.

Data Analysis & Reporting – Ability to collect, interpret, and communicate data and insights to support strategic planning, performance measurement, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Project & Change Management – Experience supporting business transformation initiatives, technology implementations, and organizational change through effective planning, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Communication & Problem Solving – Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities to translate complex business needs into clear recommendations and actionable outcomes.
