Schedule: Sunday to Wednesday 6:00-16:30

Hiring Range: $58,000 - 70,000 per year

Job Summary:
The main responsibility for the Microbiologist is to perform microbiological testing activities and provide general lab support for the QC Microbiology Lab. The Microbiologist is also responsible of taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Continuous Improvement (never stop striving to improve systems and processes) and Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.

Job Description:

Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures (WPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

Ensure supplies, materials, instrumentation and equipment are available to meet test schedules. Be responsible for material / order management within the area

Prepare media and execute autoclave operation, housekeeping and lab cleanliness per schedule.

Develop, lead and support method transfer and analytical method validation studies. Support all validation studies as required.

Initiate change control and support all actions required by Change Control program

Provide audit support, and contribute to audit observation responses.

Prepare, test and report microbiological analysis of raw materials, bulk samples, finished products, stability and environmental monitoring samples according to USP chapters , , ,



and other house microbiological methods.

Support investigations as required including any actions in support of QA or facility investigations.

Provide accurate, neat, reliable, complete analysis reports, including result entry in computerized reports or Laboratory Information Management System, by following approved test procedures and relevant Standard Operating Procedures

Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot instruments and equipment, escal

Observe and support microbiological processes and other team members as required

Participation in continuous improvement efforts

Responsible for aiding in the training and development of new staff, including students (Microbiology Co-Op Analyst).

Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Technical

Degree or diploma in Microbiology

1-3 years of industry experience in a microbiology GMP testing lab

Proficiency with aseptic technique

Strong scientific analysis skills, including result interpretation, with ability to troubleshoot equipment

Knowledge of USP microbiology testing procedures

Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Valuable written and verbal communication skills in the English language

LIMS knowledge an asset.
