As a Project Manager, you will work closely with clients to build highly complex design build low voltage technology projects. We will lean on you for operational leadership support so your ability to guide field staff through the project lifecycle will be important in achieving success in this role. Ideally, you have handled low voltage construction projects worth $5 million or more. Though based in Vancouver, you may have to travel throughout the surrounding area depending on operational needs.
You will work on a variety of projects in different industries. This position will challenge your abilities as a project management professional and help drive your career growth. Your ability to be creative in addressing complex issues and delivering solutions will serve you well in determining success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver and complete low voltage systems for new construction, including complex security systems (video surveillance, access control, Intercom, Intrusion, RTLS), Audio/Visual, Public Address and structured cabling
Develop and manage schedules, resource plans, procurement, project commissioning, and risk mitigation strategies
Coordinate scheduling with subcontractors and other trades
Develop relationships with subcontractors to build a pool of resources; manage a selection of subcontracts for projects, where required
Lead, guide, train, and mentor field and coordination staff, both in office and site settings
Monitor the performance and quality of field and contract labour
Conduct regular site walks to verify installation quality
Implement quality assurance practices to improve customer satisfaction and promptly resolve any concerns
Deliver projects on time, within scope and budget while maintaining the highest quality delivery for our clients
Effectively manage and maintain all written and verbal project communications, both formal and informal, including communicating project progress and escalating issues when required
Identify project issues and implement corrective actions to maintain profitability
Provide accurate financial reports for project performance and targets, including cost and revenue forecasting, accruals, billing, receivables and payables management, and working capital management
Maximize productivity through the implementation of best practices and standard processes
Proactively assess risks; ensure a safe and healthy work environment
Manage project closeout activities, including as-builts, documentation, NOCs, and turnover to Service
Develop customer relationships supporting further business development
Other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous and progressive experience as a Project Manager in the electrical or low voltage construction industry
Previous experience managing large, complex construction projects preferred
Previous sales, estimating, or design experience is a bonus
Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills
Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and work with multiple deadlines
Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
Ability to participate in and pass pre-employment and customer-required background checks and drug screens
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
PMI certified
Solid computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and project software such as Bluebeam, Procore, Fieldwire and similar
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/Provincial laws, will perform the following supervisory responsibilities: planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Has a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, security system functions and operations. Good subcontracting skills required.
An understanding of job financial reports and the ability to control costs in the handling of projects
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (i.e. see, hear, speak and write clearly) to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)
WORKING CONDITIONS
The office is clean, orderly, properly lit and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate
Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without Paladin colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction
Driving to customer sites is required
Limited overnight travel may be required
Pay Range:
$70,356.00 - $ 108,658.00 D.O.E
