RQ00747 - Int. Business Analyst
6-month contract (130 business days) - possible extension
Hybrid - 3 days in office -Metro Hall, 55 John Street
Must Haves:
Minimum 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
Demonstrated experience working in Projects with Agile delivery methodologies, including participation in sprints, backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand‑ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements (epics/user stories, BRD, FRD, NFR).
Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong skills in process mapping, workflow modelling, and producing current state and future state diagrams.
Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements for technical and project teams
Previous experience working closely with UX designers to document user needs
Post‑secondary education in business, computer science, or a related

Public Sector experience preferred
Description/Qualifications:
Post‑secondary education in business, computer science, or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5+ years of Business Analyst experience in large, complex enterprise environments.
Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements (epics/user stories, BRD, FRD, NFR).
Demonstrated experience working in Projects with Agile delivery methodologies , including participation in sprints, backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand‑ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions across multidisciplinary teams.

Proficiency in BA toolsets such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and process modelling tools (e.g., Visio).
Experience supporting testing phases , including reviewing test cases, validating requirements coverage, and contributing to UAT planning.
Understanding of SDLC over Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies .
Experience analyzing and documenting business processes related to digital services or customer facing workflows .
Ability to manage competing priorities in fast paced project environments (including urgent backfill scenarios).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop clear, actionable recommendations that support project objectives
Assignment of Duties:
Requirements & Analysis:
Lead requirements gathering sessions with business, technology architecture and application development teams.
Document business requirements (BRD), functional and non‑functional requirements, epics/user stories, and acceptance criteria for Agile methodology.
Perform gap analysis between current processes and desired future state architecture and capabilities.
Process & Workflow Documentation:
Produce detailed current state and future state process maps , system interaction diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
Ensure requirements align with design and accessibility standards and security policies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
Translate complex technical concepts into business language and vice versa.
Project Delivery Support:
Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and participation in Agile ceremonies.
Collaborate with QA teams to validate requirements coverage and test case completeness.
Collaborate with UX and service designers to translate user needs from wireframes, user stories, and content design into transparent business requirements for development and business teams
Participate in solution design discussions, ensuring business needs are met.
Collaborate with both user experience designer and service designer during the design and development phase, translating user needs from wireframes, user stories, and content design into business requirements that development teams and business teams can understand.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain project documentation, traceability matrices, RAID logs, and weekly status reports.
Provide clear and actionable communication to project leadership
Deliverables:
Support Product Owner to define backlog priority and document the requirements
Document user stories/epics/tasks/acceptance criteria in Jira/Confluence to represent business functional and non‑functional requirements
Ensure stories meet quality standards, including definition of done before being brought into a sprint
Capture backlog refinement notes, clarifying technical details agreed upon refinement sessions
Contribute to test plans, test cases and validation of requirements
Document current state and future state process models
