Senior IT Project Manager
Pay Rate: $84.87 /hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 1 Year

Raise is currently hiring a Senior IT Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our client is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
IT Project Manager with hands-on expertise in structured project and solution delivery methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects through the full lifecycle—from initiation to completion—while managing procurement and integrating business and operational processes. Strong skills in process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and people management in a matrix workplace are essential. A solid understanding of current IT concepts, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to balance multiple priorities are key to success in this role. Experience in the utilities industry is an asset.
The initial contract will be for one year, working 40 hours per week, with the possibility of extension. We support a hybrid work environment, where the team is in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are flexible for where you work best.
Responsibilities
Plan, document, and implement optimal team structures, defining roles and expertise.
Lead teams effectively to ensure high-quality delivery that exceeds client expectations and achieves established goals.
Establish comprehensive project plans detailing scope, schedules, resources, and communication strategies. Confirm requirements with the customer and identify key stakeholders.
Direct and manage all project work activities efficiently.
Select and apply suitable project management methods and tools to ensure delivery quality and realize tangible business outcomes for the client. Focus on delivering results aligned
with objectives and validate that deliverables meet quality standards.
Organize regular team planning to identify risks, issues, and dependencies. Develop robust risk management plans, actively mitigate identified risks using an up-to-date register, and optimize delivery workflows. Resolve project issues promptly.
Communicate clearly with all internal and external stakeholders for input, decisions, and updates. Guide senior stakeholders on delivery methods and protocols to streamline
workflow. Effectively manage all project communications.
Validate project progress and quality. Maintain accurate, current information on project
status and outcomes. Control project scope and changes, including schedule adjustments. Monitor resource commitments and proactively resolve conflicts.
Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on project management experience is essential, including significant experience in resource and budget planning across multiple concurrent projects.
Experience includes creating low to medium complexity roadmaps for custom application enhancements
Must possess a solid understanding and practical experience with various project delivery methodologies, including waterfall, hybrid-agile, Scrum, and Kanban systems.
Skilled in using the Microsoft Office Suite for producing deliverables like Project Charters and change records.
Proficiency with collaboration tools like Azure DevOps Boards (as Product Manager/Scrum Master), is required.
Must demonstrate the ability to earn trust and influence stakeholders at all levels without formal authority. Requires excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills, coupled with a practical, innovative, and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
Strong initiative and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Experience at a consultancy leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams is needed.
Experience in a regulated industry (preferably utilities/electricity transmission) is considered an asset. Must have experience leading teams to implement various
technologies including bespoke applications, cloud platforms, DevOps, AI, and Data Platforms
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, or related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project Management certification (PMP or PRINCE2) is mandatory.
