Position Overview
Accounting Clerk is currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our Business Office team.Reporting to the Accounting Manager / Controller, this role plays a criticalpart in supporting dealership operations by ensuring the accurate, timely, andcompliant processing of accounts payable transactions.
The Accounting Clerk contributes to the overall financialintegrity of the dealership by maintaining accurate records, meeting reportingdeadlines, and supporting strong vendor and manufacturer relationships. Thisposition works closely with internal departments and external partners in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
The expectedpayfor this position is$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 annual salary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Sort, code, and enter vendor and manufacturerinvoices into the CDK system
- Verify invoices and match to purchase orders andsupporting documentation
- Process bi-weekly on-demand cheques and monthlycheque runs
- Process monthly business office remittances
- Reconcile vendor statements, manufacturerstatements, and credit card statements
- Reconcile electronic funds transfer (EFT)payments and accounts
- Reconcile sublet schedules and accounts payableschedules
- Maintain accurate and organized filing systems(physical and electronic)
- Respond to internal and external inquiriesrelated to accounts payable
- Support month-end closing activities as required
- Perform other accounting or administrativeduties as assigned by management
Qualifications Required
Education & Experience
- Post-secondaryeducation in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a relatedfield, or equivalent practical experience
- Previousexperience in an Accounts Payable or accounting-related role
- Automotiveindustry experience is considered an asset
- Experiencewith CDK software is considered an asset
- Workingknowledge of the accounting cycle and accounts payable processes
- Strongattention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Abilityto manage high volumes of transactions while meeting tight deadlines
- Strongorganizational and time-management skills
- Excellentverbal and written communication skills
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Self-motivated,proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in ateam environment
- Positiveattitude with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Legallyentitled to work in Canada
