Join Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. as a permanent full time Birth Support Worker dedicated to enhancing health in First Nations communities. Utilize your skills to support culturally-rooted birthing practices and client needs.
This role emphasizes collaboration with the Little Pine, Lucky Man, Poundmaker, and Sweetgrass First Nations. You will leverage your knowledge of First Nations culture and traditional birthing practices to assist clients effectively. Previous experience in First Nations communities and completion of a Birth Doula Studies Program are desirable for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide birth support and culturally sensitive care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive health solutions
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information
• Demonstrate core competencies in problem-solving and leadership
• Ensure a positive and respectful workplace culture
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Completion of Birth Doula Studies Program is an asset
• Respect and understanding of First Nations traditions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Clean criminal record check and valid driver’s license
