Join UBC as a Tax Compliance Analyst, focusing on indirect taxes and reporting accuracy. In this critical role, you will contribute to compliance with GST and PST regulations.
This position, reporting to the Director of Treasury, plays an essential part in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of tax processes at UBC. You will work alongside various university departments to prepare tax returns and maintain the integrity of tax data in Workday. The role requires a keen understanding of complexities in tax legislation related to exempt versus commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and file monthly GST and PST returns
• Assist in preparing non-resident and other provincial tax returns
• Ensure reconciliations align with finance and CRA statements
• Provide guidance on tax-related queries to stakeholders
• Participate in tax audits and ensure compliance
Requirements:
• Relevant undergraduate degree
• At least three years of experience in tax roles
• Enrolled in CPA PEP program
• Proficient with financial systems and spreadsheets
• Robust organizational and communication capabilities
