This permanent position involves performing solicitor duties for the Yukon Courts and judiciary. Supporting the Chief Justice and Chief Judge, you will handle complex and diverse legal issues while supervising a team of Senior Judicial Assistants and students. Your expertise in litigation and law practice will be essential in navigating groundbreaking legal principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer legal advice to Yukon Courts and judiciary
Engage in procedural and substantive legal matters
Supervise and guide judicial assistants and students
Collaborate with the Chief Justice and Chief Judge
Conduct independent legal research and analysis
Requirements:
Experience in litigation or solicitor law
Good standing with Law Society of Yukon
Bilingual in English and French is a plus
Understanding of Yukon First Nations history
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
