The Salvation Army is searching for dedicated Night Shift Respite Support Staff in London, Ontario. This role focuses on providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities during critical overnight hours.
As part of The Salvation Army's mission to support children, youth, and adults with disabilities, you will ensure their physical, emotional, and behavioral needs are met. This position involves medication management, safety checks, and meal preparation for participants. You must be proactive in advocating for their well-being and promoting a safe workplace throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure participant safety with regular room checks
• Administer medications and complete charting accurately
• Prepare meals and snacks according to the menu
• Support participants' personal care routines
• Document daily activities and incident reports
Requirements:
• Completed two years in relevant community college education
• One year of experience in a social services setting
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• Ability to lift participants up to 50 lbs
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License required
