The Opportunity Join Weir Motion Metrics in Vancouver, BC, and help advance the next generation of AI and machine vision solutions transforming the mining industry. Working within Weir, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to take cutting-edge machine learning innovations from concept to deployment, creating measurable impact for mining operations worldwide.

Help close the gap between the latest AI breakthroughs and production-ready mining technology offerings
Own AI solution roadmap planning and drive continuous performance improvement through close communication with customer success and support teams
What you need to succeed Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
3+ years of machine learning development experience
Academic publications and an active presence in the AI research community are considered strong assets
Strong collaboration skills across AI, cloud, edge, software and broader R&D; teams
Interest in mentoring machine learning developers and contributing to shared engineering practices
Ability to contribute to documentation, presentations and governance activities for AI products and solutions
Deep understanding of machine learning and computer vision techniques
Proficiency in Python programming and AI model prototyping, with hands-on experience using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and OpenCV
Experience developing production-ready machine learning solutions
Experience designing, prototyping and developing AI solutions from ideation through deployment and performance monitoring

A base salary range of CAD 100,000 to 160,000 DoE plus bonus
