Summary Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Carpenter selected will be responsible for the completion of carpentry work and quality management, ensuring the compliance with local building code and company safety policy. The Carpenter is also responsible for general site maintenance and clean-up as needed.
Responsibilities Adherence to building code and corporate safety requirements on all sites
Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of subtrades
Oversight of subtrade work
Perform touch ups and repairs on subtrade deficiencies
Perform frame checks and mechanical checks
Finish carpentry work
Quality management inspections and reporting
Report issues as they arise to the superintendent
Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun
Mentor novice workers
Other tasks as required by the site foreman / site superintendent
Requirements Experience in residential framing




Enrollment in Carpentry apprenticeship program as a 3rd or 4th year or completion of Journeyman Carpentry
Experience in finish carpentry is an asset
Equipment operation experience is an asset (zoom boom / skid steer)
Knowledge of building code and safety code requirements
Be organized, interpersonal and strong communicator with the ability to build excellent relationships with subtrades and workers on site
Candidate must have excellent time management skills, have the ability to prioritize work and be results driven
Exceptional attention to detail and solid understanding of quality standards
Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
