Role Description The Maintenance Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, NS, responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the residence. This role includes coordinating and performing routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and resident apartments to ensure a safe, comfortable environment. The Maintenance Supervisor schedules and monitors preventive maintenance, responds to work orders and emergency issues, and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical problems as they arise. The role also involves supervising maintenance staff and contractors,



managing inventory of tools and supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Collaboration with management and other departments is essential to support smooth daily operations and a high level of resident satisfaction.
Qualifications Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
Proficiency in equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance for building systems and related infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with general maintenance and repair, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC basics.
Effective troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues promptly and safely.
Nova Scotia Driver's License and explicit Abstract.
Knowledge of workplace safety practices, building codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to residential facilities.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and work orders.
Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, colleagues, and external contractors in a respectful, service-focused manner.
Previous experience in residential, hospitality, or healthcare-related facilities maintenance is an asset.
Relevant technical training or certification in building maintenance or trades is preferred.
