Hours & Conditions of Work

Regular Full Time

35 hours weekly

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a regular in-person presence at PCRS offices, program locations, meetings, and community events.

Limited flexibility in work location may be available, subject to operational requirements and supervisor approval.

PCRS is seeking a strategic and relationship-focused Communications & Philanthropy Manager to lead the development and implementation of organizational communications and philanthropy initiatives. This role will strengthen internal communication, enhance organizational storytelling, steward the PCRS brand, support stakeholder engagement, and help build philanthropic capacity across the organization.

Reporting to the CEO, the Communications & Philanthropy Manager will work collaboratively with leaders across PCRS to ensure communications are aligned with organizational priorities, values, and strategic objectives. The position will establish sustainable systems and processes that improve communication, strengthen staff engagement, elevate community awareness of PCRS' impact, and support long-term fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

Strategic Communications

Leads the implementation and ongoing evolution of PCRS' communications strategy

Develops and maintains annual communications and engagement plans aligned with organizational priorities

Provides strategic communications advice and support to the CEO, Executive Team, Directors, and program leaders

Ensures organizational communications are coordinated, consistent, accessible, and aligned with PCRS values and brand standards

Supports crisis and issues communications as required

Internal Communications & Engagement

Strengthens internal communication systems that promote transparency, engagement, recognition, and alignment across the organization

Coordinates executive and organizational communications, including leadership updates, staff communications, key announcements, and organizational messaging

Develops tools and processes that improve the flow of information across teams and departments

Supports organizational events, staff engagement initiatives, and recognition activities

External Communications & Brand Stewardship

Oversees external communications including website content, social media, publications, annual reports, media materials, and organizational storytelling

Develops compelling content that communicates PCRS' impact to donors, funders, partners, government, and community stakeholders

Monitors and maintains the organization's brand identity and public profile

Builds and maintains positive relationships with media, partners, and community stakeholders

Philanthropy & Community Engagement

Supports the development and implementation of PCRS' philanthropy and donor engagement strategies

Coordinates donor stewardship, sponsorship opportunities, fundraising communications, and donor recognition activities

Assists with the identification and cultivation of donors, community partners, sponsors, and philanthropic opportunities

Collaborates with program and leadership teams to develop stories, impact reports, and engagement opportunities that support fundraising efforts

Leadership & Administration

Supervises and supports communications staff and/or administrative resources as assigned

Develops systems, processes, performance measures, and reporting mechanisms that support communications and philanthropy objectives

Manages project timelines, priorities,



and budgets within assigned areas of responsibility

Performs other related duties as required

Degree, diploma, certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, business, non-profit management, or a related field.

Relevant professional certifications or designations such as APR, CFRE, CMP, PMP, or similar credentials.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate projects, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and digital communication platforms.

Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, cultural safety, equity, diversity, inclusion, and Truth and Reconciliation principles.

Required
5 years:
Progressively responsible experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, philanthropy, fundraising, marketing, public relations, or a related field.

Experience in media relations, brand management, crisis communications, or organizational storytelling.

Experience working in the non-profit, community social services, health, education, or public sectors.

Experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders, including staff, community partners, funders, donors, government, or the public.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication strategies, plans, or initiatives within a complex organization.
