The Prospect The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for performing sanitary welding, fabrication, and repair of production equipment and infrastructure within a food manufacturing environment. This role supports maintenance operations by ensuring all welding and fabrication activities meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (GMP, HACCP), while minimizing downtime and maintaining equipment reliability.
Snapshot Of a Day-in-the-Life Perform TIG welding and stainless‑steel fabrication in food‑grade environments.
Fabricate, assemble, and install equipment, piping, platforms, guards, and structural components.
Modify existing equipment to improve performance, reliability, and cleanability.
Ensure all welds meet sanitary standards.
Weld various materials including but not limited to aluminum.
Maintenance Support Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, piping, and structural failures.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Collaborate with maintenance team to execute scheduled work.
Food Safety & Compliance Ensure all work complies with GMP and HACCP standards.
Maintain clean work practices to avoid contamination risks.
Ensure repairs do not compromise food safety or environmental integrity.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
Health & Safety Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and hot work permits.
Identify hazards and support safety initiatives.
What You’ll Bring Education & Certification Journeyman Welder or equivalent certification preferred.
CWB certification is considered an asset.
Experience 3-5 years welding/fabrication experience in industrial environment.
Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
Skills Strong knowledge of TIG welding and stainless‑steel fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.




Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
