About The Opportunity
Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) is seeking an experienced and seasoned Labour Relations Consultant to provide senior-level support to its Labour Relations team. This consultant will help address workload demands and resource constraints while providing expert guidance on complex labour relations matters across both corporate and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Developing grievance analyses and preparing responses at all stages of the grievance process
Responding to complaints filed with the Canadian Human Rights Commission (CHRC)
Supporting strike preparedness activities and contingency planning
Providing expertise related to essential services agreements and designations
Preparing and managing exclusion requests
Advising management on complex labour relations issues and strategies
Training, coaching, and mentoring junior Labour Relations Advisors
Producing high-quality written analyses, recommendations, briefing materials, and correspondence
Collaborating effectively with stakeholders while managing sensitive and confidential matters
Requirements
Extensive experience in Labour Relations advisory and consulting roles
Demonstrated experience supporting both corporate and operational labour relations functions
Experience preparing grievance analyses and responses at various levels
Experience responding to CHRC complaints and managing related processes
Knowledge and experience in strike preparation, essential services, and exclusion requests
Proven ability to mentor and develop junior Labour Relations professionals
Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Excellent writing and drafting abilities, including preparation of complex labour relations documentation
Fluency in both English and French (oral and written)
A valid Reliability Security Clearance
Availability to work on-site in Gatineau four (4) days per week
