About the Opportunity Altis Recruitment is proud to partner with a values-driven organization within the Broader Public Sector to support the recruitment of a Human Resources Business Partner for a 3-month contract. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this role joins a collaborative team of five HR Business Partners, each supporting their own client portfolio.
In this role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, delivering both strategic insight and hands‑on HR support. Working within a purpose‑led and inclusive environment, you’ll help navigate complex employee relations matters, support respectful workplaces, and contribute to solutions that positively impact people and culture. Your Responsibilities You’ll provide practical guidance to managers and employees on employee relations, collective agreements, and HR policies
In this role, you’ll lead workplace investigations, manage employee complaints, and support conflict resolution processes




You’ll advise leaders on the interpretation and application of collective agreements and employment legislation
You’ll coach managers on performance management, attendance issues, and respectful workplace practices
You’ll oversee return‑to‑work, attendance management, and accommodation processes in collaboration with internal partners
You’ll partner with leaders and HR colleagues to support recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives
Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR advisory or business partner responsibilities
Demonstrated experience working in both unionized and non-unionized environments
Robust knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements, and policy interpretation
Proven ability to manage complex and sensitive employee relations matters
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across all organizational levels
CPHR designation or progress toward certification is considered an asset
Experience working with or supporting First Nations, Inuit, or Métis communities is a strong asset
