The CBC Atlantic Investigative Unit seeks an innovative and team-oriented producer to support our team of award-winning investigative journalists. Reporting to the Senior Producer of the Atlantic I-unit, Rob Antle, you will help shape investigative and enterprise story creation, ensuring content resonates with our audience across various platforms.

You will produce numerous story and project rollouts and help land them for maximum public service impact. You will pitch and shape ideas, vet scripts for video, audio and text, and bring knowledge and experience to thorny legal and JSP matters. You’ll be on the lookout for opportunities to collaborate, co-produce, and leverage learning opportunities for the team. Your keen news sense and curiosity, understanding of investigative best practices and top tier editorial and organisational abilities will be crucial in helping to shape the team’s work.

A natural collaborator, you will thrive on mentoring young journalists, navigating conflict and change, breaking down silos, and developing a representative and inclusive culture that is brought to bear on the stories undertaken by the unit as well. You will help to guide, coach, and support reporters, working closely with regional leaders. You’re an advocate for transparency and press freedom in the world around us, and bring that work to external institutions when possible.

This role requires full time on site presence.

The work can be done from any of the following CBC stations in the Atlantic: St. John’s, Halifax, Fredericton, or Charlottetown.
