In addition to a competitive rate of pay, PCA currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of PCA.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F)



and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:
Must possess strong assessment, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team is essential. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. Demonstrated advanced critical thinking and decision-making skills are required. Public Health Nurses (PHNs) are expected to provide care in both clinic and community settings, including client homes. Working conditions may be influenced by external environmental factors. The role requires the ability to perform physical duties such as gathering and transporting clinical supplies, accessing upper and lower cabinetry, and supporting clinical activities (e.g., feeding and immunization of young children), which may involve bending, crouching, and working in awkward positions. PHNs must be able to pack, lift, move, and transport heavy and/or awkward supplies (up to 50 pounds) to various work sites. Service delivery may involve walking several blocks, climbing multiple flights of stairs, and performing repetitive movements as well as prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and bending. Must be comfortable driving in all weather conditions in both urban and rural settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of recent (within 5 years) Public Health Nursing experience preferred. Baccalaureate degree in nursing is an asset. Experience in communicable disease control, immunization, and maternal/newborn care is desirable. Experience working with families and pediatric populations is an asset. Additional certifications (e.g., breastfeeding, lactation, childbirth education) and experience with Connect Care are preferred.
