We are currently hiring for a Service Manager in Kelowna. Compensation is between $90,000 to $100,000 a year. In addition, we offer health and dental perks after three months, profit sharing, a company vehicle, RRSP matching after one year, and a variety of other perks!
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Oversee the administrative, operational, and customer service functions of the Service Department
Promote a strong,
collaborative service team through coaching, mentorship, and team-building initiatives
Maintain open, professional, and positive communication, both written and verbal, with employees, internal departments, customers, and vendors
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective workload distribution to meet customer demand and business objectives
Participate in and support business development initiatives to grow Mazzei Electric’s service market share within the region
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and recommend improvements as required
Ensure full compliance with the company safety program and applicable regulations
Manage the efficient operation of the Service Department, including expense control and cost management
Provide proactive and responsive leadership to all service personnel, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, career development, and safety oversight
Organize and present monthly technical meetings
Work closely with the Service Coordinator to schedule technicians, service calls, and departmental meetings
Conduct annual performance reviews and support continuous development planning for service personnel
Analyze service productivity, performance metrics, and workflows; recommend and implement improvements to enhance customer service, efficiency, and profitability
Maintain high-quality service delivery while ensuring productivity and profitability targets are achieved
Review and approve equipment and replacement requests
Organize, coordinate,
and schedule all maintenance, replacement, and customer service work orders
Provide technical support or assign assistance to technicians as required to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
Perform other duties as required to support departmental and organizational objectives
Qualifications:
Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification with a valid FSR-B designation
Proven experience managing electricians and/or service technicians within a residential and commercial electrical service and maintenance environment, preferably in a multi-branch operation
Experience in service management and dispatch, including the use of scheduling software and Microsoft Office/Outlook
Demonstrated estimating and pricing abilities supporting accurate quoting and profitability
Solid understanding of financial management, including margins, profitability, cost control, and budgeting
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical, operational, and service-related issues
Effective mediation and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to address employee, customer, and stakeholder concerns professionally
Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
Thorough understanding of electrical concepts, practices, and procedures, including the ability to interpret the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), safety regulations, building codes, and applicable lighting systems
Working knowledge of electrical applications, permitting processes, and electrical maintenance practices
Experience using Accubid is considered an asset
Experience using Jonas Enterprise is considered an asset
Valid driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract
