Department/Unit/Program Description The Operating Room performs elective and emergency surgery on an outpatient and inpatient basis. The multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and support staff work together to ensure a positive experience for the patient.
Student Loan Forgiveness Program Ross Memorial Hospital qualifies for the Government of Canada's Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Nurses may be eligible to receive up to $30,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness

Essential Qualifications Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in Good Standing
Certificate in Peri-Operative Nursing from an accredited educational facility,



or equivalent years of OR experience
Minimum two (2) years current Operating Room nursing experience
Ability to scrub and circulate in all services
Must be willing to take call with assigned shifts and be available to reach the hospital within 15 minutes when on call (On-Call room available)
Current BCLS certification, on hire
Knowledge of ORNAC and IPAC Standards
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
Commitment to continuous career development and continuing education
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
Computer knowledge and skills
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
Ability to function as a team member
Ability to respond to urgent/emergent situations
Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per the current Physical Demands Analysis
Preferred Qualifications B.Sc.N.
Hours of Work Must be available to work a variety of eight (8) hour shifts Monday to Sunday, days, evenings, nights, weekends, including statutory holidays and on-call. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA Collective Agreement.
