The Opportunity
A respected and established Calgary law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate to join its growing litigation team.

This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong foundational litigation experience who is looking to build expertise in commercial disputes while working alongside experienced litigators in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of matters, including construction disputes, credit enforcement, and commercial litigation, while developing advocacy skills and increasing responsibility for client files.

Practice Areas

Commercial litigation

Business and shareholder disputes

Key Responsibilities

Assist with and manage litigation files from inception through resolution

Draft pleadings, applications, affidavits, and other court materials

Conduct legal research and prepare written arguments

Attend chambers applications, discoveries, mediations, and court appearances

Work directly with clients and opposing counsel

Support senior litigators on complex commercial disputes

Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal advice

Qualifications

2-3 years of litigation experience





Strong interest in commercial litigation and dispute resolution

Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills

Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities

Strong interpersonal and client communication skills

Member in positive standing with the Law Society of Alberta
