Business Unit: SDFX Studios

Position: Systems Engineer, Associate

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Pay Range: $26.00 – $33.65 CAD hourly

Main Duties

The Associate Systems Engineer will support both Windows and Linux desktop infrastructure and work with other team members across all technology areas. They will collaborate with IT, support, and engineering teams to ensure people and infrastructure are able to function, answer help‑desk support and queries, document IT functions and data‑center inventory, and participate in company‑wide IT projects and initiatives. Additionally, they will assist with datacenter operations including racking, cabling, and hardware lifecycle, and administer and maintain supporting infrastructure.

- Windows Desktops (Windows 10 and Windows 11)
- Linux Desktops (Rocky)
- MacOS Desktop
- DNS and DHCP and related operations
- On‑boarding and off‑boarding of staff.
- Assist other members of team on projects and tasks where appropriate.

What You Bring

- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows desktops.




- Understanding of virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of automation of IT and engineering tasks.
- Understanding of Windows Server technologies such as Active Directory.
- Understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for datacenter tasks.
- Prior experience in VFX and media & entertainment environments is a huge asset.
- Work on site 4 days a week.
- Participate in after‑hours, weekend, and holiday on‑call rotations.
