Role Description
The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for curtain wall, window, door, and glazing projects, including quantity takeoffs, material and labor pricing, and subcontractor quotations. The Estimator reviews drawings and specifications, identifies scope requirements, assesses risks, and develops competitive bids and budgets aligned with project objectives. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with project managers, designers, and procurement teams, maintaining estimating tools and cost databases,



and supporting value engineering efforts. The role also involves preparing transparent proposal documentation, participating in bid reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

Strong estimating and quantity takeoff skills for façade, glazing, or construction projects, including the ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.

Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Excel, specialized takeoff/estimating applications) and strong numerical and analytical abilities.

Knowledge of building envelope systems, materials, and installation methods, particularly curtain wall, windows, doors, and custom glazing.

Experience coordinating with project management, design, and procurement teams to validate scopes, pricing, and schedules.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing proposals, clarifications, and client-facing documentation.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant experience in construction estimating, preferably within façades, glazing, or commercial building envelopes.

Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and a collaborative, accountable approach to work.
