Job Description

Key Responsibilities

- Analyzes insurance contracts to ensure provisions are applied correctly.
- Evaluates each claim for appropriateness of payment, denial, calculation of benefits, etc.
- Requests and reviews all necessary information to assess each claim.
- Communicates with the insured routinely to provide status updates.
- Accurately inputs pertinent information into the appropriate claim system and processes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures claim handling is thorough, understandable, and properly documented.
- Adheres to insurance regulations and internal service level standards.

Bilingual Requirements

Fluency in English and French languages.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of claims handling experience, preferably with Living Benefit claims such as Disability Income, Critical Illness, and Disability Waiver or Premium claims.
- Knowledge of basic computer systems such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, etc.




- Aptitude for learning new computer systems.
- Experience with claims processing procedures and documentation, administrative procedures, legislative requirements, and medical principles related to the examination and approval of Living Benefits insurance claims.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of disability and life insurance preferable.
