We are looking for awesome, self-driven Personal Support Workers to work throughout the Haliburton, Kawartha, and/or Peterborough Region.

Scheduling Requirements

- Flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts preferred. Weekend availability is also preferred.
- MUST be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule for the foreseeable future.
- Available and willing to see multiple clients throughout the day.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
- Provide companionship and light housekeeping (whatever it takes to help a person stay at home).
- Prepare meals in accordance to the client and/or the family's request (must be open to preparing different kinds of cuisine).
- Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs that is within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker.
- Assists clients in all activities of daily living/hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes and so forth.
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly.
- Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description.




- Completes records and documentations accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

- Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas of work, an asset if you can travel to rural/remote areas.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
- PSW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution or International nursing/doctorate Certification.
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Valid WHMIS2015 Certificate of Completion.
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario's Human Rights Code.
- Immunization for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and Diphtheria REQUIRED; immunization of Hepatitis B is strongly urged.
- Valid Criminal Record Check – must be completed within the last year.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
- Requires good judgement, the ability to work independently, and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) Registration an asset.
