Position Summary
As a Art Director at INNOCEAN Canada, you are a visual leader responsible for shaping bold, effective creative across integrated campaigns. You bring strong conceptual thinking, refined craft, and executional excellence to brand and retail work, with digital at the forefront. This role is ideal for an experienced creative who balances big ideas with hands‑on delivery and helps elevate the quality of work across the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of innovative visual concepts and executions across print, digital, social, web, and integrated campaigns.
Translate client briefs, business objectives, and audience insights into compelling visual solutions.
Collaborate closely with Copywriters, Designers, and cross‑functional partners to develop integrated creative ideas.
Work with Account teams to solve client business challenges through solid visual storytelling.
Design and art direct a range of assets including retail materials, digital ads, websites, social content, and brand elements.
Present creative ideas and visual directions clearly and confidently to clients and internal teams.
Manage projects from concept through execution, including on‑location shoots and production oversight when required.
Ensure work is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Maintain awareness of design trends, emerging platforms, and evolving visual formats.
Qualifications & Experience
Typically 5-8 years of copywriting experience in an agency or creative environment.
University or college degree, diploma, or equivalent agency experience.
Solid background in art direction and design across integrated campaigns.
Ability to concept and execute visually distinctive ideas across multiple media.
Solid understanding of layout, typography, composition, and visual storytelling.
Proficiency in relevant design software including Adobe Creative Suite.
Comfort working across digital platforms, social formats, and web environments.
Familiarity with production processes for print, digital, and integrated work.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with creative, account, strategy, and production teams.
Experience mentoring or guiding junior creatives.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Comfortable working under pressure and within defined budgets.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
