About The Role
As a WorkBC Team Lead, you will play a key role in leading day-to-day centre operations, supporting staff, and ensuring high-quality, accessible services for clients and communities. This position combines people leadership, operational oversight, and direct client support, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to drive service excellence and achieve performance goals.

What you’ll do

Ensure strong, clear, and open communication while working with staff, leadership, employers, service providers, and community partners to support integrated service delivery

Maintain and ensure accountability is in place while implementing a person-centred, culturally safe and inclusive focus

Supervise and support Centre staff with the day-to-day service delivery in the WorkBC Centre. Act as backup for Centre Manager as needed

Assist with all new staff recruiting, onboarding, and training according to the role requirements and WCG process

Responsible for one-to-one meetings with staff to help with coaching, training or case conferencing and then provide feedback to staff and update Centre Manager and Regional Manager

Assist with staff probationary and annual performance reviews in alignment with WCG’s performance management framework

Create a day-to-day environment of strong cross-functional team performance, ensuring effective coordination throughout the team





Facilitate and support WCG and WorkBC’s vision and goals, including meaningful employment outcomes for clients

Help guide and support team members with their training plans and any 1-1 follow up as required to assist with Key Performance Measures (KPMs) and report any updates to the Centre Manager and/or Regional Manager weekly

What you bring

Previous supervision experience

The Team Lead must demonstrate experience using strong leadership and communication skills in supervising a team of 10 or less

These skills should include the delivery of performance feedback and performance management practices

Must successfully meet all criminal record processes as identified by both the Ministry and WCG

Solid understanding of confidentiality and other professional codes of conduct

Excellent communication, diplomacy, interpersonal, teamwork, problem solving and multi-tasking skills

Computer software knowledge and skill at using Microsoft Office Suit

Preferred Criteria

Previous experience working in WorkBC or employment focused programs

Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government social service programs, job search techniques, career development and issues related to the unemployed

Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation,



social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, or human resources management), preferred

Preferred bilingual in French and English or a second language also considered an asset
