We are seeking an experienced Systems Testing / QA Specialist to join a Government of Ontario project supporting enterprise-level applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and managing manual and automated testing activities across multiple projects while ensuring software quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual testing, test planning, automation tools, Agile methodologies, and public sector environments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.

Execute functional, integration, regression, system, user acceptance (UAT), and non-functional testing.

Validate application functionality, business requirements, and backend data accuracy.

Perform GUI and non-GUI application testing.

Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, ALM, or Bugzilla.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Katalon, Appium, UFT, TestComplete, or Postman.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.

Conduct performance, load, stress, accessibility (AODA), and security testing.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Maintain detailed test documentation, quality metrics, traceability matrices, and test execution reports.

Support production releases and post-implementation validation.

Ensure compliance with Ontario Public Service (OPS) quality standards and testing methodologies.

Required Qualifications
Experience

5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Manual Testing.

5+ years creating test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.

5+ years developing testing strategies and traceability matrices.

Experience executing:

Functional Testing

Integration Testing

Regression Testing

System Testing

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Accessibility Testing

Non-functional Testing

Experience testing enterprise-level applications.

Experience working across all phases of the SDLC.

Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Technical Skills

Minimum 2+ years of automation testing experience.

Experience with one or more automation tools:

Knowledge of Oracle Siebel Public Sector applications.

Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Experience with OPS QA processes and standards.

Must-Have Skills

5+ years of Manual Testing experience.

Robust experience creating Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts, and Test Data.

Experience developing Traceability Matrices.

2+ years of Automation Testing experience.

Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Katalon, Appium, or equivalent tools.

API Testing using Postan or SoapUI.

Agile methodology experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience testing enterprise-level applications.

Previous Government/Public Sector experience is highly preferred.
