Quality Assurance Advisor – Supplier Quality Surveillance (Owner’s Team)
6‑Month Contract | Calgary | Travel Required
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Advisor to support owner‑side Supplier Quality Surveillance (SQS) activities across multiple projects. This role focuses on coordinating vendor surveillance, reviewing supplier documentation, and ensuring compliance with engineering and procurement requirements . The position is Calgary‑based with regular travel to vendor shops and facilities across Western Canada.
Role Overview
The Advisor provides owner‑side QA oversight , ensuring suppliers meet contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes EP‑aligned vendor surveillance, inspection coordination, and quality governance , rather than performing inspections directly.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Surveillance (EP‑Aligned)
Plan and coordinate SQS activities in alignment with project surveillance strategies and ITPs.
Review supplier quality plans, procedures, MTRs, NDE reports, and manufacturing records.
Participate in pre‑inspection meetings, hold/witness points, FATs, and supplier reviews.
Identify quality or schedule risks early and support mitigation with suppliers and internal teams.
Inspection Coordination
Coordinate third‑party inspectors and ensure alignment with surveillance plans.
Validate inspector reports, NCRs,
and documentation packages for completeness and accuracy.
Ensure inspection activities support engineering intent and procurement requirements.
Maintain communication between suppliers, inspectors, engineering, and supply chain.
Technical & Project Support
Support engineering, supply chain, and project teams with quality requirements and supplier engagement.
Review supplier submittals and QA deliverables for compliance with specifications and codes.
Provide feedback on quality issues affecting design, procurement, or fabrication.
Support readiness reviews, documentation turnover, and supplier closeout.
Assess supplier capability and adherence to contractual QA obligations.
Support supplier qualification, audits, and ongoing performance evaluations.
Maintain surveillance plans, supplier status, and quality risk registers.
Work with supply chain and engineering to resolve supplier quality concerns.
Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical, Welding, Metallurgy, or related discipline (CET‑eligible preferred).
Understanding of EP‑aligned SQS, supplier quality programs, and regulatory compliance.
Experience coordinating inspections and reviewing fabrication documentation.
Solid communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license; comfortable with winter travel and shop/field environments.
