Lead efforts in tree care and maintenance with the City of Burnaby in this Arboriculture Lead Hand role. Engage in pruning, planting, and supervising a skilled crew to ensure tree health and safety.

This position in Urban Forestry calls for an individual with solid arboricultural skills and knowledge to lead a team. You will perform tasks such as tree pruning, planting, and removal while overseeing site safety and crew performance. Certification in BC Faller Training Standard and ISA is preferred to enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and train crew members in tree care tasks
• Lead tree pruning, removal, and planting initiatives
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols during work




• Maintain time records and report on crew progress
• Conduct pest management and young tree culture tasks

Requirements:
• Grade 12 education with tree care training
• Tree Trimmer/Climber certification required
• Sound experience in arboricultural techniques
• BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
