Become the Chief Engineer responsible for vessel maintenance and engineering operations at BC Ferries on Texada Island. This impactful role requires innovative problem-solving and leadership in a marine environment.

In this position, reporting to the Senior Chief Engineer, you will ensure optimal performance of the ship's mechanical and electrical systems. You will manage a small crew, perform safety drills, and conduct maintenance, all while keeping communication open with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage ship’s systems and troubleshoot issues
• Train crew in firefighting and emergency protocols
• Conduct equipment repairs and maintenance oversight
• Coordinate inspections with regulatory agencies
• Complete logs and reports on machinery status

Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years as Chief Engineer or Senior Watchkeeper
• 3rd Class Motor Certificate or higher
• Valid Seafarers Medical
• Robust problem-solving and communication skills
• Familiarity with computer-based maintenance systems
