We are seeking a Senior to Principal Geotechnical Engineer / Ingnieur(e) gotechnique niveau snior principal(e).

Description of Responsibilities: The successful applicant will provide engineering and consulting support on projects for North American and international clients.

The majority of the work is related to engineering studies, design and earthworks construction for proposed and existing tailings and mine waste management facilities, water management facilities and mine closure related projects.

The successful applicant will be based in Quebec City, Montreal, or Toronto, and will work on projects in Canada and abroad as part of a larger team of engineers and scientists based in our Canadian offices, with opportunities to collaborate with SRKs global team.

The successful applicant will have a keen interest in pursuing a career in geotechnical engineering as it applies to the mining industry, a willingness to travel to remote locations, a strong desire to learn and enthusiasm for working on a team.

The position involves the following range of typical activities: Execution or leadership of geotechnical engineering projects, related to tailings and mine waste projects at all phases of the mine life, including planning, construction, operations, or closure and reclamation.

Supporting or leading geotechnical site investigations and instrumentation programs.

Preparation and review of supporting engineering calculations, models, and methods.

Interface with clients and completion of site visits/inspections as necessary.

Providing on-site construction supervision for projects at mine sites.

Geotechnical data management, analysis and reporting.

Performing geotechnical analyses and design.

Preparing, or assisting in the preparation of, drawings, technical reports and memos.

Participating in multidisciplinary design teams with hydrotechnical, hydrogeological, geochemical, and civil disciplines.

Active engagement in development and/or advancement of SRKs engineering practice.

Active engagement and participation in business development.

La majeure partie du travail est lie aux tudes dingnierie, la conception et la ralisation de travaux de terrassement pour des parcs rsidus et installations de gestion des rejets miniers (existants et projets), des installations de gestion de leau, ainsi que des projets lis la fermeture de mines.

La personne retenue sera base Qubec, Montral ou Toronto et travaillera sur des projets au Canada et linternational au sein dune quipe largie dingnieurs et de scientifiques base dans nos bureaux canadiens, avec des occasions de collaboration avec lquipe mondiale de SRK.

Les tches typiques lies au poste comprennent notamment:



Ralisation ou direction de projets en ingnierie gotechnique lis aux rejets et aux rsidus miniers toutes les phases du cycle de vie dune mine, y compris la construction, lexploitation, la fermeture et la restauration.

Soutien ou direction de campagnes dinvestigation gotechnique et de programmes dinstrumentation.

Prparation et rvision de calculs, modles et mthodes dingnierie.

Interaction avec les clients et ralisation de visites ou dinspections de sites, au besoin.

Supervision de travaux de construction sur les sites miniers.

Gestion, analyse et interprtation des donnes gotechniques, ainsi que la rdaction des rapports associs.

Ralisation danalyses et de conceptions gotechniques.

Prparation, ou contribution la prparation, de plans, rapports techniques et notes de service.

Participation des quipes de conception multidisciplinaires (hydrotechnique, hydrogologie, gochimie, gnie civil, etc.).

Contribution active au dveloppement et lamlioration des pratiques dingnierie de SRK.

Participation active au dveloppement des affaires.

Participation active au mentorat de collgues.

Essential Requirements: Undergraduate degree in geotechnical, geological, environmental or civil engineering.

More than 10 years of engineering experience.

Registered or eligible for professional registration (OIQ and PEng).

Valid drivers license and a good driving record.

Commitment to conducting work safely.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. A positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to take on new challenges.

Willingness to travel locally, nationally and possibly internationally.

Ability to work independently, onsite, outside and in remote locations.

Ability to work long hours in the field, tolerating variable weather conditions.

Bilingual in English and French.

Valuable Skills: Experience with engineering software applications is an asset (e.g., Geostudio, Rocscience, AutoCAD, Muk3D).

Solid risk analysis skills, with the ability to bridge design activities and FME/FMEA-type exercises Experience with data science and coding (Python) is an asset.

Experience with soil logging or soil testing is an asset.

Construction QA/QC or general construction experience is an asset.

Graduate degrees in a related field are considered an asset.
