About Our Client Our client, a well-established manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Lead to join their team in Surrey, BC.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end processes, financial reporting, and mentoring junior accounting staff.

Job Details

Position Title: Senior Accountant/Accounting Lead
Location: Surrey, BC
Compensation: Up to $80,000 annually (depending on experience)
Job Type: Temporary-to-Permanent or Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

- Support and participate in the month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities




- Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations
- Prepare and assist with GST, PST, and other tax filings
- Assist with inventory accounting and cost accounting activities
- Generate financial reports and provide analysis to management
- Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Work within the ERP system to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy
- Support the finance department transitions and special projects as required
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members

Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of payroll accounting and tax filings
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, inventory, or product-based environment is strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems is required
- Experience with Acumatica ERP is considered a strong asset
- Robust Microsoft Excel and computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a hands-on environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Accounting designation or progress toward a designation is considered an asset, but is not required

Preferred Experience

- Experience working in a small to mid-sized owner-managed business
- Inventory and cost accounting experience
- Supervisory or mentoring experience
