About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief People Officer (CPO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. The CPO will be responsible for leading the enterprise people strategy in alignment with the organization's values and co-operative principles. This includes talent acquisition, succession planning, and workforce management to ensure a high-performing, engaged workforce.
The successful candidate will also champion leadership excellence, advance a culture of continuous learning, and digital readiness, and ensure competitive total rewards that attract and retain top talent. The role demands a strategic partner who can operate at the executive level, with a proven track record in developing and executing people strategies,
particularly in the context of organizational transformation within complex, regulated environments.
Candidates for the CPO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field, with a preference for a CPHR or equivalent designation. A minimum of 8 years' of progressive senior HR leadership experience, including at least 3 years' at the executive or C-suite level, is required.
The ideal candidate will have a background in labor relations, including experience in collective agreement negotiations and grievance management. Personal characteristics such as collaboration, integrity, trust, and a solid business perspective are essential.
The CPO must also demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and be aligned with the co-operative values of the organization, particularly the belief that people come before profits.
