Description Real Property and Capital Plan Working Group The National Indigenous Council is seeking volunteers to serve on this committee who will play an essential role in supporting the ministry of the Indigenous church.
Mandate: The Real Property and Capital Plan Working Group receives and reviews applications for real property renovations from the Indigenous communities of faith with nationally owned properties.
The members of the Working Group recognize and hold that this work is a ministry of stewardship.
The contributions of volunteers build up the Body of Christ.
In this caring for the Body, we care for our communities and for each other.
We hold dear the Seven Sacred Teachings of love, wisdom, honesty, respect, courage, humility, and truth.
Skills: We are looking for people with knowledge of Indigenous contexts such as land areas, band relationship, and winter road access and transportation.
Important areas of knowledge include building and construction, costs, labour, electrical, maintenance, plumbing, contracts, contracting, and project management.
Membership: The working group is made up of seven members, including one member of the National Indigenous Council.
Expectations and Term Online meetings:
Monthly, by videoconference In-person meetings: Once each year, to be held in different locations Expectations between meetings: Minimum 12 hours per month discerning requests.
Reviewing budgets, quotas, and insurance information pertaining to the faith community Additional appointment possibilities or expectations: None Appointment term: Three-year term to be approved by the National Indigenous Council; possibility of a second three-year term For more information about this volunteer prospect, please see the complete description, below .
