Job Description: Under the direction of a Manager and as part of the interdisciplinary team, the Community Mental Health Nurse provides a complex range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a community mental health and addictions population The incumbent provides program consultation and co-ordination, evaluation of clinical interventions, supervision, preceptor students in formal clinical practicum, and provides skilled and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources. The incumbent will provide nursing leadership and clinical expertise in the development and maintenance of community mental health and addiction treatment programs and ensure nursing practice standards are maintained.

Experience
- Must have min 2 yrs post grad recent recognized mental health & addiction exp
Education
- Graduation from an approved school of psychiatric nursing
- Graduate from school of general nursing with training in psychiatric nursing

- Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
- Excellent knowledge and skills related to community psychiatric nursing practice
- Demonstrated leadership skills, workload management and administration skills.
- Excellent consultation & public relation skills
- Extensive knowledge of community resources for clients and caregivers
- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
- Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty.
- Work collaboratively w/ a multidisciplinary team & other agencies in the commnty
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
