We are currently recruiting aHealth & Safety Managerto join a leading Canadian manufacturing organization with operations in Ontario and Quebec.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, this position plays a critical leadership role in driving health and safety excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across multiple facilities.
What You''ll Do Lead health and safety compliance activities for facilities located in Cornwall, Ontario and Lachine, Quebec Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and provide guidance on operational impacts Lead and support Industrial Hygiene Monitoring, Hazard Communication, Radiation Safety, Incident Investigations, and related programs Develop and implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries and improvesafetyperformance Serve as the management representativeon
Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC) Develop, review, and maintain corporate health and safety policies and procedures Support the implementation of organization-wide safety initiatives and best practices Coordinate safety training and compliance programs, including WHMIS, First Aid, Fire Safety, Fall Protection, and Lockout/Tagout Provide health and safety reporting, analysis, and recommendations to senior leadership Liaise with regulatory agencies including the Ministry of Labour, WSIB, OSHA, and HSE Coordinate facility audits, establish audit standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives Analyze incident trends and develop corrective action plans to reduce risk exposure Coach and mentor supervisors and employees on health and safety best practices Lead WSIB claims management,
including appeals and return-to-work processes Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all organizational health and safety standards What You Bring Bachelor''s Degree preferred, ideally in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) and/or CHSC (Certified Health and Safety Consultant) designation Expert knowledge of Canadian occupational health and safety legislation and programs Knowledge of Quebec health and safety legislationis considereda strong asset Minimum 10 years of progressive health and safety leadership experience Manufacturing and unionized environment experience preferred Strong communication, facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills Proven ability to design, implement, and improve health and safety programs Solid analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities Experience managing WSIB claims and appeals Ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels of the organization Benefits & Environment Comprehensive compensation package Paid vacation and company-wide holiday shutdown Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates Opportunity to influence safety strategy across multiple Canadian locations Collaborative leadership team and supportive corporate culture Meaningful work that directly impacts employee well-being and organizational success If this
