We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join a social services organization in Burlington, Ontario on a Contract basis.

This role supports day-to-day HR coordination by keeping employee information organized, assisting with hiring and onboarding activities, and helping ensure payroll and benefits records are accurate.

The successful candidate will contribute to a well-run HR function through strong attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, and responsive support to employees and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities: Maintain complete and current employee records within HR systems and ensure personnel documentation is properly organized and accessible.

Prepare and update employment-related documents, including letters, confirmations, status changes, and other routine HR correspondence.

Coordinate recruitment administration by posting opportunities, updating candidate tracking records, arranging interviews, and communicating with applicants.





Support pre-employment and onboarding activities by gathering required documentation, monitoring the status of required screening for all candidates, and helping new hires complete orientation steps.

Assist with offboarding administration by collecting final paperwork, updating employee records, and confirming required process checklists are completed.

Help track attendance, timesheets, and vacation balances to support accurate payroll processing and employee record maintenance.

Review HR and payroll information for accuracy and assist with data reconciliation between internal HR platforms and payroll systems under the guidance of the HR Manager.

Respond to routine employee questions related to payroll, advantages, and HR administration, and escalate more complex matters when appropriate.

Maintain digital and physical filing systems for HR and related financial documents in accordance with internal compliance requirements.
