Empower youth and adults in mental health recovery as a Peer Support Specialist with Canadian Mental Health Association. Utilize your personal experience to foster resilience and connection.

The full time Peer Support Specialist will provide essential recovery-focused support at CMHA and Youth Wellness Hub Ontario. You'll work closely with clients to help them navigate challenges, identify personal goals, and achieve their recovery plans.

A diploma in a relevant discipline alongside lived experience is required to facilitate effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build trusting relationships through peer-focused engagement
- Support individuals in developing life skills and problem-solving
- Guide clients in accessing vital community resources




- Encourage meaningful community participation and social connections
- Document client interactions following program standards

Requirements:

- Relevant post-secondary diploma such as Social Service Worker
- 1-2 years' experience in health-related settings
- Personal recovery experience from mental health or addiction
- Hold a valid Ontario Driver's Licence and have vehicle access
- Flexibility in hours to fulfill position requirements
