Position Summary Temporary Full-Time Appendix D Support Staff, replacement contract position (3-month contract)
Responsibilities Peer academic support programs Track service activity, prepare reports, and make recommendations regarding service effectiveness, identifying key issues and continuous improvements for management
Engage with stakeholders to identify learning trends and coordinate supports
Develop and oversee outreach and communication strategies
In collaboration with the manager, analyze student staffing needs, coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and transition
Develop and deliver student worker training
Responsible for budget monitoring related to student employee positions
Service research and development Operationalize the department's strategic plan and review current and pilot support services to make recommendations
Research and develop project proposals supporting pilot initiatives, and cross-service collaboration
Work with operations and management teams to evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery and identify improvements
Learning support technology development Project lead for learning support software implementation and development
Responsible for systems integration, stakeholder engagement, and vendor relations
Provide data tracking, reporting, outcome assessment, and recommendations for changes to service areas, including budget constraints
In consultation with the manager, develops, coordinates, and facilitates workshops related to learning technology and AI in collaboration with Student Success colleagues
Administration Contribute to ministry reporting and compliance requirements
Participate in departmental, college-wide, and committee activities to support Learning Services operations and strategic priorities
Qualifications A four-year degree in education, social sciences,
information literacy or a related field is required
Additional education in learning strategies, assistive technology, or volunteer management is an asset
Minimum three years of experience working in an educational environment, preferably at the post-secondary level, assisting students with learning outside the classroom to maximize their potential, is required
Experience tutoring/advising or developing educational/learning resources is required
Experience instructing or delivering workshops to students is required
Advanced knowledge of educational needs and barriers of diverse students, including students with disabilities, adult learners, non-traditional students, new Canadians and English as an Additional Language (EAL) students
Advanced technical skills and strong proficiency with collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom), learning technologies, learning management systems, and booking systems
Supplemental instruction training is an asset
Experience assessing learning programs and coaching or mentoring student staff
Experience supporting adult learners, providing academic advising, is an asset
Knowledge of post-secondary education, diverse student populations, and best practices in student learning support

Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgment, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters effectively
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build solid relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
Self-motivated and able to prioritize competing demands, work independently, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and public-speaking abilities
Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel to other Conestoga campuses
