**Job Title: Millwright / Maintenance Technician**
**Job Description**
The Millwright / Maintenance Technician maintains and improves plant machinery and equipment by performing troubleshooting, preventative and reactive maintenance, and commissioning of new equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role works in a multi-skilled setting to minimize production disruptions, ensure protected and efficient plant operations, and support continuous improvement of maintenance processes and programs.
**Responsibilities**
Troubleshoot and perform regular maintenance on all plant machines and equipment to ensure reliable operation.
Execute both planned and reactive maintenance activities, responding promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Commission recent equipment, including installation, setup, and integration into existing production processes.
Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, following established schedules and procedures.
Operate within a multi-skilled environment to maintain machinery and equipment while continuously improving processes to reduce production disruption.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including work on pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drives, bearings, and gears.
Use machine tools such as bench grinders, lathes, drilling machines, and milling machines to fabricate parts required for repairs and to maintain production equipment.
Assist the Engineering team in developing preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and execute and maintain these programs effectively.
Set up and maintain a safe, organized, and well-equipped maintenance shop.
Perform daily general housekeeping in the work area to support a clean and secure environment.
Ensure the safe and effective operation of the plant by adhering to maintenance best practices and safety standards.
Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop bills of materials (BOMs) for equipment and maintain appropriate spare parts inventory.
Maintain accurate maintenance records in the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
Support and achieve all maintenance department business, quality, and safety goals.
Follow all human resources, environmental health and safety, and company policy requirements.
Complete special projects as required from time to time to support plant operations and improvement initiatives.
Travel domestically as needed for training and equipment procurement.
Maintain and keep current all relevant professional designations and licenses.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team and plant operations.
**Essential Skills**
Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in mechanical maintenance and repair, including work on drives, bearings, and gears.
Ability to perform welding tasks as part of equipment repair and maintenance activities.
Certified Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A designation.
Completion of secondary school and a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent in a related trade.
At least 4 years of experience working as a millwright in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Ability to operate machine tools such as bench grinders, lathes, drilling machines, and milling machines for part fabrication.
Capability to develop, execute, and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Competence in maintaining organized maintenance records within enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Counterbalance forklift certification and experience are considered an asset.
Welding certification is an asset.
Elevated work platform certification is an asset.
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams.
Strong organizational skills for maintaining a safe and orderly maintenance shop.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically for training and equipment procurement.
Ongoing commitment to maintaining professional designations and licenses.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing facility with approximately 140 production staff.
The maintenance team typically consists of one millwright and two helpers on each shift, creating a collaborative and hands-on technical environment.
Work is performed around active production equipment, requiring strict adherence to safety practices and housekeeping standards.
The setting involves regular use of industrial tools and machinery, and the pace is driven by production demands in a modern manufacturing operation.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Woodbridge, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $89440.00 - $90000.00/yr.
