**Job Title: Carpenter**
**Job Description**
This role is ideal for an experienced carpenter who enjoys a mix of hands-on construction work, site maintenance, and repair tasks across commercial projects such as hospitals, schools, and factories.
You will contribute to building and maintaining temporary and permanent structures, perform general installations, and support overall site cleanliness and organization while working with a variety of hand and power tools.
**Responsibilities**
Perform general site clean up to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
Build temporary walls and other structures as required for ongoing construction projects.
Carry out site maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and adjustments to existing structures.
Complete drywall-related tasks, including drywall clean up and repair work.
Use hand and power tools, including skill saws and other carpentry equipment, in a safe and effective manner.
Perform general installations such as fixtures, hardware, and other construction components.
Execute framing work for walls and other structural elements in accordance with project specifications.
Construct and install walls, ensuring proper alignment, measurement, and finishing.
Hang doors, including fitting, alignment, and finishing to meet project standards.
Support construction activities across multiple commercial sites as needed, adapting to different project requirements.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum of 5+ years of construction carpentry experience.
Strong carpentry skills, including framing, drywall work, and finishing.
Hands-on experience working on construction sites with a variety of tools and materials.
Proficiency with hand and power tools, including skill saws and related carpentry equipment.
Ability to lift more than 30 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
Experience working with drywall, including installation, repair, and clean up.
Experience in framing and wall building on commercial construction projects.
Ability to follow site safety procedures and work effectively within a construction team.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
WHMIS certification is an asset.
Working at Heights or Fall Arrst certification is an asset.
Experience working in hospital facilities is a significant advantage.
Experience in commercial construction environments such as schools and factories.
Comfort working across multiple sites in the Greater Toronto Area, including Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Toronto, and Cobourg.

**Work Environment**
This is a regular day shift role, typically working 40 hours per week from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Work takes place on active commercial construction sites, primarily new hospital projects, as well as schools and factories, with no residential work.
The environment involves standard construction conditions, including working with hand and power tools, handling building materials, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and moving items over 30 pounds.
Assignments span multiple locations across the Greater Toronto Area, including Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Toronto, and Cobourg, with the possibility of reassignment to other construction sites as projects progress.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of MARKHAM, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
