Martha''s Regional Hosptial (SMRH), Antigonish, is seeking an emergency medicine physician to join their team.

Permanent, full-time/part-time and short-term/locum opportunities exist.

There is chance to engage in research and/or teaching positions with Dalhousie University, as well as, local simulation-based learning and mentoring opportunities, should that be of interest. SMRH is approximately two hours from the region''s tertiary care pediatric facility, the IWK Health Centre, which provides neonatal support.

This facility serves a population of nearly 60, from Antigonish, Guysborough, and surrounding communities.

It is classified as a ''Level 2'' Emergency Dept and has 8 beds, plus an observation area with 15 beds.

Emergency physicians are joined by colleagues in: anesthesia dermatology family medicine general surgery geriatrics hospitalists internal medicine (general and sub-specialty who cover the 6 bed ICU) obstetrics/gynecology ophthalmology otolaryngology palliative care pediatrics plastic surgery psychiatry radiology (U/S, CT, MRI, ECHO) visiting oncology and neurology Community based care is further supported by a men''s and women''s health centre, chronic pain clinic, methadone clinic, walk-in clinic,



and youth clinic at the local high school.

Responsibilities Duties include full scope of practice as an emergency physician providing care to patients within the eastern zone.

The physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Expected Hours full-time part-time locum various shifts available each month Qualifications eligible for licensure with the (CPSNS) eligible for certification with the (RCPSC); or eligible for certification with the (CFPC) membership with the (CMPA) ATLS, ACLS, PALS and advanced Airway training are required
